'Was it worth it?' is always a biased question because it implies that whoever is asking doesn't think so. As an Aspie, many of my decisions don't make sense to people and I also felt like I had to explain myself for many years. At one point, I realized that my responses didn't seem to make a difference so I stopped engaging. I now spend all my efforts in trying to live my life the way I want.
