If you’ve been reading my serialized memoir SMIRK so far, then you know the basic outline of the story. I’m the former Bloomberg reporter who broke the story of “Pharma Bro” Martin Shkreli’s arrest. And then I fell in love with him.
Before I could figure out how to explain the situation to my close friends and even my family, I put it all into a letter… to former First Lady, Senator, U.S. Secretary of State, and two-time Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton. A weird choice, perhaps. (She, of course, never replied to the letter.)
Martin, a self-described political conservative who harbors much bitterness toward Clinton for various reasons, was also extremely annoyed that I wrote it. (He has never read it, and probably will never read it.)
However, I’m disclosing it to you. Perhaps you will find it interesting. It is edited down a bit, but for the most part, it reflects its original form. Enjoy.
